Omar Yunes Win the Best Franchise Award

On 5th December, Omar Yunes flew the flag high as the best franchise of Yussi Itto. He joined the Japan’s food chain at a tender age of 21 and currently owns 13 franchised units across Brazil. His business interests span through Mexico City, Puebla, and Veracruz representing 10% of the units representing the Japanese brand.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Omar attributed his success to the efforts by his team of 400 employees working in the 13 units. Selection of the winner during the awards followed the effect of the individual franchise on the entire network where 34 countries had representation. Hungary, France, Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina were among the countries represented at the event. The award also sought to recognize other factors in the network chain including employee motivation and satisfaction, sharing of knowledge and proposed amendments to management models.

Acknowledging the win, Diego Elizarrarras organizer of BFW Mexico also applauded Omar for his success while noting that he also won in the Mexican chapter. He lauded the contribution by the franchisee in improving the relationship between different units, improvement in information management and the creation of control boards that ease monitoring and measurement of individual units.

The CEO of Sushi Itto, Benjamin Cancelmo defined the award as recognition of efforts from different quarters to improve the quality of brands from the Japanese company. A better understanding of consumer tastes and excellent hospitality practices led to the introduction of the best flavors that meet market needs.

According to Elizarrarras, the win also uplifted the Brazilian franchise to international standards and the country’s representation in the mother company a step from the time it used to be a regional affair. The second position of the Mexican chapter during the award ceremony went to Ivan Tamer whose immense contribution was noted.

Omar Yunes is a serial investor in Brazil. He is the son of Veracruz governor-elect Miguel Angel Yunes Linares. His entrepreneur interests include Sushi Itto’s Franchisee a venture he undertook at the age of 21. His business efforts have grown the franchise to 13 units commanding a workforce of 400 employees in different cities across Brazil.
