"I found this sand dollar on one of my first trips to the beach after moving to Florida.  Having grown up in Kansas, I get excited by the little things that many natives take for granted.  Finding intact sand dollars, egrets in my front yard, dolphin sightings, etc. all give me a thrill, even after five years of living here.  So when I began block printing, I traced the shape of this sand dollar and blew it up to use as one of my first block prints.  I used the design on the underside of the sand dollar because it's not as commonly used yet is so simple and beautiful.  Every time I print something with this design, I'm reminded of my find, me dream of living on the coast, and how lucky I am to live here."  (Nicole)
